ASG11 (ASA2)
Our Department of Mathematics staff member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Müge Saadetoğlu will deliver a seminar entitled "When Representation Theory Meets Topology". She will speak about representation theory, a branch of algebra that studies abstract algebraic structures by representing their elements as linear transformations of vector spaces, and use this theory to give a topological proof for a version of Artin's induction theorem from algebraic topology. All are welcome to attend the talk in ASG11 (ASA2), and refreshments will be provided.
